Why does Google Maps not give directions in Korea?

Korean map data export rules keep Google Maps from offering turn-by-turn navigation in Korea. Locals use Naver Map and Kakao Map, which are Korean-first. KORLENS shows a readable map in your language and hands you to Kakao or Naver for the actual route.

Does the KORLENS map work in English?

Yes. Map labels use English (or Japanese/Chinese) names where OpenStreetMap has them, place names come from the Korea Tourism Organization English data, and the taxi card keeps the Hangul for the driver.
