Why does Google Maps not give directions in Korea?

Korean map data export rules keep Google Maps from offering turn-by-turn navigation in Korea. Locals use Naver Map and Kakao Map, which are Korean-first. KORLENS shows a readable map in your language, estimates subway, bus and walking routes itself, and hands you to Kakao or Naver for live navigation.

Does the KORLENS map work in English?

Yes. Map labels use English (or Japanese, Chinese and other) names where OpenStreetMap has them, place names come from the Korea Tourism Organization data in ten languages, and the taxi card keeps the Hangul for the driver.
