The Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is the 4km buffer between South and North Korea, sealed since 1953. Day tours from Seoul take you to the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel (built by NK in 1978), Dora Observatory (binoculars onto NK villages), and Imjingak Peace Park. Premium tours include JSA (Panmunjom) where blue UN huts straddle the actual border — requires passport submission 1 week ahead.
