She was the queen consort of King Kim Suro, who was born in 42 AD and ruled the ancient kingdom of Garakguk. According to legend, Heo Hwang-ok traveled from India and first set foot on Mangsando Island. The story goes on to tell that the stone vessel she was traveling in capsized at sea, resulting in the formation of Yujuam.
