Wolmi Culture Street & Moonlight Music Fountain

Wolmi Theme Park Wolmi Theme Park is filled with exciting music and delightful screams of young people. Many people visit the amusement park because they can enjoy different rides while looking at the sea. The DJs' fun banter makes the rides enjoyable for the people riding on them, and the whole scenery brings smiles to the faces of even the passersby. When you ride the Viking at Wolmi Theme Park, you can look far out into the sea, and its slope is so great that it is said to be the most thrilling pirate ship ride in the country. Tagada Disco Pang brings joy and laughter to people on the ride and those watching them, thanks to the DJ's funny banter. The Ferris Wheel, which boasts a diameter of 110 m and a height of 115 m, offers a panoramic view of not only the Incheondaegyo Bridge and the sea in front of Incheon but also the distant Wolmisan Mountain, Incheon Floodgate, Incheon International Airport, Jagyakdo Island, and Palmido Island. There are various amusement parks in operation in Wolmido Island so you can have a great time anywhere you go. If you have children, you can engage in different experiences and plays at parks for children. In summer, children can have fun time in the water zone.

Wolmido Cruise There are two different courses for the Wolmido Cruise. Course A is a performance course that departs Wolmido Island and passes under the Yeongjongdaegyo Bridge and Ara Waterway West Sea Floodgate before returning to Wolmido Island. The course takes up about an hour and 20 minutes, and passengers can watch performances on the deck. Course B is a fireworks course that departs Wolmido Island and passes the sea in front of Yeongjongdo Island and under the Incheondaegyo Bridge before returning to the island. It takes about an hour and 30 minutes, and, while on the boat, you can enjoy fireworks and beautiful nightscape. The New Cosmos, a 700-ton cruise ship, was built in 2017 with a capacity of 670 passengers. It consists of three floors: a restaurant and a performing stage on the 1st floor; a cafe, VIP rooms, and another stage on the 2nd floor, and; an outdoor performing stage on the deck and a terrace on the 3rd floor from which the sea of Incheon can be viewed. At the 3rd-floor observatory, you can see seagulls flocking over in the cool sea breeze. On the Wolmido cruise, you can enjoy the Jeongseojin Ara Waterway, the West Sea, the Yeongjongdaegyo Bridge and various performances on board. While enjoying the freshness of the sea and the joys of the performances, you can make one more good memory on Wolmido Island.

Waterfront of Wolmi Culture Street The Waterfront of Wolmi Cultural Street was established by reclaiming 5,667 ㎡ of shared water in the front center of Wolmi Culture Street. With the space equipped with water-related facilities, people can freely get close to the water and enjoy sightseeing and relaxation. The “Wolmi Moonlight Musical Fountain” at the center of the waterfront space presents a fountain show together with music, which is an interesting sight to see. There are also a cloud hill and tide and sunset observation decks, which are high-quality vista points where you can see the Incheondaegyo Bridge from the front with the sunset on the west coast in the backdrop. If you go down the water-friendly stairs on the waterside deck, you will find waves rocking back and forth. This will give you an opportunity to get familiar with the water while feeling the sea yourself in a water-friendly space. As you walk further into the Culture Street, you will see an outdoor stage shaped like an origami crane with its back towards the sea. Wolmi Park Civilian access to Wolmisan Mountain was prohibited for 50 years due to a military unit stationed there, but it was finally open to the public in 2001. That is why Wolmi Park is known as one of the most well-preserved ecological parks. There are various kinds of natural plants, including sea pine, Sargent's cherry, and oak; wild animals such as raccoons, squirrels, and elk; and different types of birds such as the long-tailed tit, Oriental tit, and varied tit. Wolmi Forest once was a battleground among Western powerhouses and the starting point of Operation Chromite. If you look closer at the trees in Wolmi Forest, the young roots have been cut off; instead, numerous branches have grown to form large trees. The trees also show war wounds like chopped branches, split trunks, and debris from bombs lodged in the roots. As you will be overwhelmed by the trees that have become stronger and more beautiful as they have overcome the pains of war, you can learn the lessons that nature and history have to offer. There is a Korean traditional garden that was created according to the city's park development plan when Wolmi Park was opened. The garden consists of Palace Garden, Byeolseo Garden, and Private Family Garden. In the Palace Garden, you can find the Buyongji Pond of Changdeokgung Palace; Aeryeonji Pond filled with lotus flowers; Amisan Chimney, and; a tiered garden. The Byeolseo Garden has Gukdamwon Garden, Soswaewon Garden, and Seoseokji. In the Private Family Garden, there are various attractions such as Yangjindang House and thatched houses of the traditional architectural style, as well as artificial ponds, streams, and rice paddies.

The Museum of Korea Emigration History Exchanges with other countries are common these days; however, a century ago, the only means of transportation was ship, so foreign exchanges were a bit challenging. Incheon, which was the country’s first hub for maritime exchanges, is also where Korea's first official emigrant departed. The history of Korean emigration began in 1902 when the first official emigrant left for Hawaii on a ship. In the museum's exhibition room, you can see the model of the ship Gaelic, which left for Hawaii at the time, as well as the painful looks of our ancestors who lived harder and with more determination than anyone else. In each of the four exhibition rooms, you can learn about the long and difficult journey of emigrants who left for Hawaii, the hard labor at sugar cane farms, the process of settling in Hawaii, the activities of the ancestors who devoted themselves to national liberation, and the current situation and hopes of overseas Koreans. At the Museum of Korea Emigration History, you will also find our proud ancestors who sacrificed their lives for Korea's independence even in the midst of the hardships they faced. It is a valuable place where you can examine the emigration history and also learn the traits of pioneers.
